Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’re aware of the Anti Elon Musk protests that are being held around the country. This is due to his clueless billionaire hubris and DOGE idiocy. By disrupting our government for the worse, he’s deservedly garnered the hatred of millions of people around the country, not to mention the world.
Being the rootin’ tootin’ lefty S.O.B. that I am, I recently attended a “Tesla Takedown” protest, which conveniently was taking place right down the street from my home.
Don’t Stop at Just One Protest
If you’ve been reading my comics for awhile, you probably know that I don’t take kindly to idiots and autocrats. Ufortunately our country is now being held hostage by both, which is a dangerous combination that’ll lead to only the worst of outcomes for everyone in the United States, and the world.
Also, in case you haven’t guessed, I’m not one to sit by on the sidelines to watch my country burn down at the hands of a greedy mad king and his moronic minions.1 That’s why this coming Saturday, April 5th, I’ll be joining millions of others in protest of the unconstitutional, oligarchical garbage being done by the Trump administration and the Republicans.
If you feel the same way, and care about your future, as well as your parents’ and your kids’ access to healthcare, social security, medicare, affordable education, affordable housing, and a clean environment, please join us is this protest. This link will help you to locate a protest near you.
I can’t stress enough how this is a critical moment in our country. If we remain apathetic and willfully ignorant of the evil corruption taking hold, we will be doomed. History is littered with failed nations populated by citizens who didn’t take action to prevent destruction.
Let’s not allow our nation to be part of history’s detritus.
Scream, shout like hell, protest, and vote!
Otherwise, you may find one day that ICE is knocking on your door to offer you a dreadful one way vacation to a Central American prison…or worse.
Stay strong,
Ed
Interesting historical footnote: One of my family’s ancestors arrived to America on the 4th ship to land at Plymouth. Another ancestor, my great, great, great, great, great (I might be missing a “great”) grandfather was John Dickinson, one of the few wealthy founders of the country who took up arms against the British. Therefore, with that kind of legacy, it seems like a family duty to fight back against another Mad King trying to oppress the people of our country.
This was wonderful Ed!!!!! And I share your observations about wishing to avoid stereotyping people... and yet seeing the almost cliche-like similarities within the MAGA mobs. Both the maga and evangelical christians strive hard to create and enforce conformity within their cults so perhaps it shouldn't be too surprising that they could be stereotyped so easily?
Thanks Ed! Without a doubt you have the best signs at the protest!!
